Duke works hard at drawing. You can see his little pencil there on his work. Duke draws a long dog, the longest dog that will fit on his paper. The paper he draws on is a piece of garbage that Arthur provided for him to draw on. It’s a piece of a Whole Foods bag. After things fell apart there was so much garbage. Before things fell apart there was even more garbage. People didn’t know what to do with it all but that became the least of their worries. Collecting and sorting and sifting all the garbage is one of the main things that Arthur does. The garbage isn’t garbage anymore. The garbage is what most of the things made since the beginning are made out of because that’s mostly what there is. Duke is happy to have some garbage to draw on. Duke is also happy to have a very small pencil that is just his size so that he can draw more friends like the long dog.
