Duke imagined this collage as a way to envision what it’s like in Arthur’s world. Arthur knows a great artist who provided the guy with the one tooth and the fern. In a later season a scholar-chef provides Arthur with books for Duke to study. The Cream-O-Land crown was provided by Chilly Most. The coffee filter will have been provided by Unkey Monkey because he’s worried about his cholesterol. Duke can’t see these people but he sees the shadows of their shadows, through Arthur who he can’t see either. But Duke knows Lord Duck is real, even though he doesn’t have very good texture, and Lord Duck casts a shadow that looks something like a duck with the right light and angle. And Duke’s rope casts a shadow. And Duke himself casts a shadow. So Duke can understand that real things cast shadows and you can learn about the real thing even if you can only see its shadow.

What two fruits do we see?

We see an apple and a lemon.

We see a fig and an apricot.
