Check it out. In Season 2 Episode 2 of Stranger Things they show these placemats. Included here are photos of my mother’s placemats from the actual 1980s. Maybe the 1970s, even. I don’t see how they could be any more similar.
These placemats came from MARS Store in Sparta, New Jersey. That was a place kind of like a little K-Mart. My grandmother owned that particular one in Sparta.
Whether you’re a fan of Stranger Things or not, they definitely have some authentic-looking 1980s placemats.
