Fingernails

I have a lot of fingernails. Ten. It’s pretty good I still have ten, I think.

They have ridges.

    1. What?!? That’s awesome news! I’ve been secretly terrified for a long time that it’s a nutrition problem. Aging I can handle!

  1. Buuuut! Some types of anemia may influence vertical ridges in the nails, often accompanied by color changes in the nails or changes in texture.

Other medical disorders that can cause vertical ridges to appear in the nail include:

    trachyonychia
    peripheral vascular disease
    rheumatoid arthritis

    1. I’m pretty sure I don’t have any of those. If I had to guess, I think mine mine is caused by having a camera lens that’s pretty good at taking up-close photographs. And a complete lack of nail care.

    1. As long as they’re not caused by poor nutrition, lack of exercise, or overexposure to the sun, I’m ok with my fate. They do split bad though when they get snagged on my gloves.
