Duke learned how to draw and he made himself a bird so that the bird would be his friend. The bird is very, very old and had been swirling around in one form or another for over forty years before Duke drew him. Everything in Duke comes from somewhere else. From something before him. Whether Duke is unusual in that regard, who’s to say? That might be the case for everyone. Everything in Duke came from somewhere else before or during him, sometimes after. Mostly from Arthur. And everything in Arthur came from somewhere else before or during him, sometimes after. Everything comes from somewhere before the beginning or even after sometimes. In a later season Duke meets another puppet and one of them takes the insides out of the other and spreads them all over the place.
